In the latest news, students from Chariho Career and Technical Center's Electrical Technology class visited ProSystems Integration, a Westerly-based automation company, to learn about career opportunities in industrial automation. The visit aimed to expose students to the industrial side of the electrical field, which is often overlooked in their curriculum.

Meanwhile, Level Automation has successfully migrated its automation cabinets from the Simatic S7-1200 to the new-generation Simatic S7-1200 G2 control system. The company's owner, Martin Ozols, noted the ease of the transition, which was completed in just two minutes thanks to a new migration tool in the TIA Portal. The upgrade also makes Level Automation's systems NIS2-ready, adhering to the latest cybersecurity standards.

In other industry news, Post Electric, a licensed electrical contractor in Southwest Missouri, has expanded its services to include home automation and smart technology integration. This move is in response to the growing demand from homeowners to modernize their electrical systems. The company has invested in advanced diagnostic equipment and expanded its technical expertise to meet these new demands.

Finally, German electrical engineering manufacturer Wago has entered the smart home market by introducing its first Matter-enabled products. The new WAGO Home Automation product line is designed to help electricians easily implement smart home solutions for their clients. The company is initially launching eight products and has created a dedicated team to support electricians in this new market segment.
