Chariho Electrical Technology Students Explore Careers in Industrial Automation
Students from the Chariho Career and Technical Center's Electrical Technology class visited ProSystems Integration, an automation company in Westerly, to learn about career opportunities in the industrial side of the electrical field. The tour was led by ProSystems engineer and Chariho alumnus Jesse Brunelle, and his father, John, the company's president. They showcased various systems, from medical tubing equipment to automated systems for Hershey Chocolate and Krispy Kreme, and even control systems for the Mystic River Bascule Bridge. The goal was to expose students to the industrial automation sector, an area less emphasized in their curriculum, which tends to focus on residential and commercial electrical work.
