Chariho Electrical Technology students explore careers in industrial automation
Students from Chariho Career and Technical Center's Electrical Technology class visited ProSystems Integration, an automation company in Westerly, to learn about career opportunities in the industrial side of the electrical field. The students toured the production floor and spoke with engineers, including Chariho alumnus Jesse Brunelle, about the company's work, which includes designing and building systems for a variety of industries, from medical tubing to food production.
Siemens' new control system streamlines migration
Level Automation has upgraded its control systems from the Simatic S7-1200 to the new generation Simatic S7-1200 G2. The migration process, which previously took a significant amount of time and manual effort, was completed in just two minutes thanks to a new migration tool in the TIA Portal. The new system is also certified according to the IEC 62443 cybersecurity standard, making it ready for the increased requirements of the NIS2 Directive.
