Electrical Technology students from Chariho Career and Technical Center visited ProSystems Integration, a Westerly-based automation company, to explore career opportunities in industrial automation. The visit, organized by Chariho alumnus and ProSystems engineer Jesse Brunelle, aimed to expose students to a side of the electrical industry beyond residential and commercial work. Students toured the facility, learned about the company's projects, and spoke with engineers about their day-to-day work.

In other news, German electrical engineering manufacturer Wago has introduced its first Matter-enabled products, signaling a strategic move into the smart home market. The new "WAGO Home Automation" product line is designed to empower electricians in residential construction by simplifying the integration of smart home technology.

Meanwhile, a look at the job market reveals several major companies actively hiring electrical engineers. As technologies like AI, electrification, and automation advance, there is a growing demand for engineers who can design and manage the necessary hardware and power systems. Companies such as Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, Intel, and Siemens are among those seeking electrical engineering talent.

Additionally, Post Electric, an electrical contractor in Southwest Missouri, has expanded its services to include comprehensive home automation and smart technology integration. This move is in response to the increasing demand from homeowners to modernize their electrical systems for smart home devices and other advanced technologies.
