Westerly, RI - Chariho Career and Technical Center's Electrical Technology class visited ProSystems Integration, a Westerly-based automation company, to explore career opportunities in industrial automation. The students, led by instructor Ryan Northup, toured the facility with company president John Brunelle and his son Jesse, a Chariho alumnus and engineer at the company. The Brunelles showcased various automated systems, including those used for medical tubing, and by major brands like Hershey Chocolate and Krispy Kreme. The visit aimed to expose students to the industrial side of the electrical field, which is often overlooked in traditional curriculums.

In other news, Monett, MO-based Post Electric has expanded its services to include home automation and smart technology integration. The company cites a growing demand from homeowners to modernize their electrical systems to support new technologies like smart lighting, thermostats, and security systems.
